Observing the Assembly

As with the previous seven weekends of the Assembly, Weekend Eight will take place online.

Principles of transparency and accessibility govern Scotland's Climate Assembly. All previous evidence sessions were recorded and we would encourage everyone to watch these sessions. Links are available on the Meetings page of this website.

A virtual observer session was hosted for each of the Assembly weekends where attendees could learn more about the Assembly’s evidence base and deliberative process and get involved with Q&As with some of our speakers. The virtual observer sessions at Weekend Six, which focused on the Assembly process, and Weekend Seven, which reflected upon the Assembly’s learning journey were recorded and are available to watch on the Meetings page of this website. The deliberations between Assembly members are private and it is not possible for observers to listen to or participate in those discussions, as is standard practice across citizens' assemblies.

In the run up to Weekend Eight of the Assembly, we are again inviting those interested to register for the Observer Programme. As Weekend Eight is the final meeting of the Assembly, the session will provide an opportunity to look back on the Assembly output and process, as well as enable discussion of the official Scottish Government Response to the Assembly’s recommendations. The live observer session will take place online on Sunday 6 February at 5 pm.

A report on the observer programme can be accessed here, or by clicking the download link below. Any further questions should be directed to info@climateassembly.scot.
